Step into the vibrant energy of Spring with our immersive Shiatsu retreat, where we explore the Wood element – the essence of growth, vision, and expansion. In the wisdom of Chinese Medicine, Wood is linked with the Liver and Gallbladder, guiding our capacity to plan, take decisive action, and move forward with clarity.

The Wood element is also playful, curious, and adventurous. When balanced, it brings a sense of lightness to our growth, allowing plans to unfold naturally without losing the joy of the journey.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Shiatsu?

Shiatsu is the art of Japanese Massage, which integrates Chinese medicine theory and Japanese practice with Western physiology and anatomy. The word ‘Shiatsu’ comes from the Japanese words ‘shi’, which means finger and ‘atsu’, which means pressure. This pressure is created by the practitioners body weight through fingers, thumbs, elbows, forearms, feet and knees in contact with the recipients body.

Do I need prior knowledge of Shiatsu?

No prior Shiatu knowledge is needed. This Retreat is for complete beginners to Shiatsu, as well as those with Shiatsu experience.

Many of our students and seasoned Shiatsu Practioners return to retreats to deepen their knowledge and learn other aspects of Shiatsu and TCM, to renew and reset, or to enhance their personal practices.

We find that there is mostly a mixed group of new and returning friends, which contributes to the wonderful tapestry woven between participants for sharing, connecting and learning together.
